In 2014, a radio DJ gets a letter from his first love that brings up almost-forgotten memories of the past.

23 years ago in 1991, five friends spend the summer together. One of them, shy and innocent Beom Sil falls in love with Soo Ok. Beom Sil has a noticeable crush to Soo Ok and waits by the girl's window during the summer. Soo Ok suffers with a leg that can't make her walk properly so she is always carried by Beom Sil. The love blossoms and how he always sees her as the girl he had want to marry.

"Unforgettable", a bittersweet tale about the last summer together of a group of friends in their Goheung County hometown trades in convention at every turn.

The story kicks off when a radio DJ (Park Young Woo) — yes radio, with ratings problems and a tape deck in the studio — receives a two-decades old letter that sends his mind (along with Kansas’ “Dust in the Wind” for some reason) racing back to the summer of 1991.

Flashing back to that year in his provincial southern Korean village, the DJ, then called Beom Sil (Best known as D.O. in EXO), reunites with his friends. They are scattered during the school year except for Soo Ok (Kim So Hyun), hampered by a bum leg and a progressive degenerative illness that makes getting around difficult. Little do the kids know it at the time, but it will be their last summer together.

A singing contest, a burgeoning romance between Beom Sil and Soo Ok, personal growth, misunderstandings, heightened teen emotions, false hope brought to Soo Ok by a city doctor and finally, tragedy. It’s standard coming-of-age/loss of innocence stuff, undermined by cliche at every step.

The kids are cookie-cutter archetypes: Beom Sil is moody; Soo Ok is frail; Sandol (Yeon Jun Seok) is the distance-runner golden boy; Gilja (Joo Da Young) is headstrong, meaning shrill and pushy; and Gaeduk (Lee Da Wit) is pudgy.

Another D.O. starring film back in 2016 that will make you cry so so bad. I didn't even expect the ending will be that heartbroken. A story not just about pure love but family and friendships. I have to praise D.O. in every single of his starring drama or movie, his emotions are contagious especially when it came to crying scenes. So proud of our Do actor!

The water is wide I can't cross over 

And neither have I wings to fly 

Give me a boat that can carry two 

And both shall row my love and I.

D.O. 又让我哭得撕心裂肺了。
